The PROMEnhance project is proud to announce the release of a comprehensive
Recommendation Booklet aimed at strengthening cooperation between Higher Education
Institutions (HEIs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and local authorities in the field of
territorial development. This initiative is designed to foster innovative, participatory local
development practices across Europe.
Key Recommendations
The booklet outlines eleven actionable recommendations that provide a framework for
collaboration and certification of competences in territorial development. These
recommendations are based on the experiences of project partners and aim to address the
complexities faced by communities today.
- Develop Clear Communication Channels and Aligned Objectives: Establishing effective communication methods to ensure all parties work towards common goals.
- Create Cooperation Hubs for CSOs, HEIs, and Local Authorities: Centralized networks for sharing resources and best practices to enhance collaboration.
- Implement Needs Assessment for Training Programs: Tailoring training to meet the specific skills and knowledge gaps identified by stakeholders.
- Develop Graduate and Post-Graduate Programs: Creating academic programs that prepare students for real-world challenges in territorial development.
- Empower Teaching Methodologies: Utilizing innovative teaching approaches to equip students with practical skills.
- Promote Community Engagement Projects: Involving communities directly in development processes to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Adopt Participatory Methods and Cultural Sensitivity: Emphasizing the importance of local voices in project development.
- Encourage Mentorship and Networking: Connecting young professionals with experienced mentors to foster skill-sharing.
- Adopt Micro-Credentials and Open Education: Providing flexible, targeted learning opportunities to support professional development.
- Develop Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Systems: Implementing systems to assess the effectiveness of certification programs.
- Ensure International Relevance and Quality of Degree Programmes: Aligning academic offerings with European standards for broader recognition.
A Path Forward
These recommendations serve as foundational elements for establishing a robust
ecosystem that supports training programs aimed at building inclusive and resilient
communities. By fostering collaboration among HEIs, CSOs, and local authorities, the
PROMEnhance project aspires to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and
real-world application.
The Recommendation Booklet is now available for consultation, and we encourage all
stakeholders to engage with these insights to enhance their cooperation and contribute to
effective territorial development strategies.
